Shri Piyush Goyal Launches Bharat Buildcon 2026 Curtain Raiser, Spotlight on Exports & FTAs

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal unveiled the curtain raiser for Bharat Buildcon 2026 in New Delhi, where leading representatives from the industry were present.

In his address, Shri Goyal said the government is fully committed to protecting Indian industries from unilateral measures taken by other nations. He encouraged industry leaders to point out areas where new markets are needed and assured that the Commerce Ministry is working closely with international partners to create fresh opportunities for Indian businesses.

He further highlighted that boosting domestic consumption remains a priority. The upcoming GST Council meeting is expected to introduce measures that will quickly stimulate demand and strengthen domestic manufacturing.

Shri Goyal encouraged participation in Quality Control Orders (QCOs) to ensure India emerges as a trusted global supplier of high-quality products. He confidently noted that India’s exports this year are expected to surpass last year’s, reflecting the competitiveness and resilience of Indian industry.

Quoting Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Shri Goyal reiterated the vision of “Zero Defect, Zero Effect” manufacturing and “Daam Kam, Dum Zyaada”—products that are affordable yet powerful. He also stressed that infrastructure development continues to be central to India’s growth agenda.

The Minister pointed out that India’s capabilities are sometimes underestimated by experts and media, but Indian industry, startups, and workforce resilience demonstrate the nation’s strong global potential. India has successfully navigated COVID-19 challenges and nuclear sanctions, positioning itself strongly in global trade.
